Goldberg, a former National Review columnist, responded to a different tweet from the congresswoman suggesting higher taxes for the rich could have enhanced the administration’s response to the virus. He said she “could confiscate every penny held by every billionaire and multimillionaire in America and it wouldn't cover a fraction of your Green New Deal fantasy.”

The Green New Deal is a resolution Ocasio-Cortez introduced last year that seeks to move the U.S. toward net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.

“The Green New Deal is a non-binding resolution of values. It does not have a price tag or CBO score and costs us $0 if passed,” the congresswoman tweeted.
