FX and Hulu are teaming up to launch a new documentary series produced by The New York Times that will premier this Friday.

The series, dubbed “The New York Times Presents,” will feature 10 individual documentaries exploring breaking news, investigations and character-driven stories. The series will air one episode each month and will help bring “viewers close to the essential stories of our time.”

The new series joins The Times’s “The Weekly” on FX, another documentary program that premiered in June 2019. That program, which has aired 30 episodes, was awarded a Pulitzer Prize and an Overseas Press Club award.

“The New York Times Presents” will feature episodes on an array of issues, including the coronavirus’ impact on New York City, the killing of Breonna Taylor by police in Louisville, Ky., and more.

The series is being produced by The New York Times and Left/Right, a Red Arrow Studios company and is being spearheaded by the team behind “The Weekly.”
