“We think it should be large. He’s mentioned a trillion dollars. I told him that sounded good to me,” Schumer said on ABC News' “Powerhouse Politics" podcast

Trump has called for $1 trillion in infrastructure spending over 10 years, though details for the proposal are still scarce.

Some Republican lawmakers have already expressed concerns about how the proposal would be funded. 

 Schumer warned that Democrats won't "sacrifice our principles."

“We’re not going to oppose something simply because it has the name Trump on it, but we will certainly not sacrifice our principles just to get something done,” he said.
