The FBI said Tuesday afternoon that a person of interest had been taken into custody as it investigates a bombing Monday at an Air Force Recruiting Center in Bixby, Okla.

"We can confirm that we have taken into custody a person of interest in regard to the bombing at the USAF Recruiting Center last night," the FBI's field office tweeted.

Authorities initially said they believed the explosion late Monday night that damaged the doors of the recruitment center to be an act of domestic terrorism.

But a federal agent later said authorities were investigating the incident as a criminal act, according to News on 6 in Tulsa, Okla.

The facility in suburban Tulsa was closed at the time, and nobody was harmed by the detonation.

The FBI did not name the person of interest or say how the individual was connected to the incident.

Security cameras at a nearby restaurant in the same plaza as the recruitment center reportedly captured surveillance footage of the explosion.
