California lt. governor: Pence would be just as bad if we get rid of Trump

California’s lieutenant governor said impeaching President Trump won’t solve the Democratic Party’s problems because Vice President Mike Pence would be just as bad.

“If you game this thing out and you get rid of Trump, you’re left with a problem and that’s Mike Pence,” Gavin Newsom (D) told HBO talk show host Bill Maher.

Speaking on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Newsom defended calling the investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia a “loser” issue for Democrats, and called for a “positive agenda” for his party.

“Absolutely, unequivocally we need to get to the bottom of this. What I was saying is an important point is, if you game this thing out and you get rid of Trump, you’re left with a problem and that’s Mike Pence,” Newsom explained.

While Maher argued against Newsom’s point, according to Newsom Pence might actually accomplish a conservative agenda.

“But, Bill, here’s my bigger point,” Newsom said. “We have to have absolute accountability on Russia but the bigger point is that the Democratic Party right now — we’re in trouble.”
