The head of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is speaking out against the possibility that President Trump will end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

"If he gets rid of DACA, he's showing that he is a liar," Javier Palomarez, who is also a member of the White House's National Diversity Council, told CNN.

Palomarez vowed to work until the "bloody end" to stand up for the DACA program.

He also said it would be a "deplorable action on behalf of this president" if Trump chose to end the Obama-era program.

"Hopefully we can convince this president to do the right thing," Palomarez said.

A Politico report Sunday said Trump plans to end the DACA program with a six-month delay.

The program temporarily blocks the deportation of undocumented immigrants brought to the country as minors who sought work permits.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have urged Trump not to end the program.

Trump is expected to make a formal announcement Tuesday about the program's future.
