Watchdog group announces ‘dishonest and corrupt’ Trump official awards

A left-leaning government watchdog group is firing back at President Trump’s plan to present the “fake news media” with the “most dishonest and corrupt media awards” next week.
American Oversight tweeted Wednesday that it is planning to give some awards of its own.
“In a complete coincidence, we will be announcing awards for the ‘Most Dishonest and Corrupt’ Trump administration officials on Monday at 5:00 pm as well,” the group tweeted on Wednesday.

Trump tweeted Tuesday that he plans to announce “THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR on Monday at 5:00 o’clock.”
“Subjects will cover Dishonesty & Bad Reporting in various categories from the Fake News Media. Stay tuned!” the tweet said.
The tweet came after Trump’s campaign sent supporters a letter last week asking for help in awarding a “Fake News Trophy.”
American Oversight has repeatedly sued the Trump administration over issues such as access to Department of Justice records regarding wiretaps of Trump Tower and the calendars of Cabinet officials.
