Obama says George Clooney ‘does the whole grey hair thing better than me’
Former President Obama joked on Thursday that actor George Clooney can rock a head of grey hair better than he can.
The former president appeared in a video as Clooney accepted the American Film Institute’s Life Achievement Award, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“[Clooney] does the whole grey hair thing better than me,” Obama said. “He is a good man, a good friend, a good citizen and an outstanding maker of film.”
Clooney developed a friendship with Obama while he was in office. He paid visits to the White House, played basketball with the former president and, just last year, Obama stopped by Clooney’s estate in England.
Among Clooney’s other friends and colleagues that turned out to toast him at the gala were Anna Kendrick, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox and late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“Tonight is very special, I will treasure it,” Clooney said after accepting the honor. “Good night and good luck.”
