Ex-Trump aide: Stormy Daniels arrest ‘reeks of entrapment’

Former Trump campaign senior adviser A.J. Delgado slammed the early morning arrest of Stormy Daniels on Thursday, saying it “reeks of entrapment.”

“Why were undercover officers at her show to begin with???” Delgado, who worked on President Trump’s campaign and transition, asked on Twitter. “And allowing themselves to be touched?”

{mosads}“Reeks of entrapment,” she added. “(Don’t care what your opinion is of Stormy — this is creepy and totally seems like a set-up.”

Daniels, an adult-film star who claims she had an affair with Trump, was arrested early Thursday morning at a strip club in Ohio.

She was charged on three counts of illegally touching a patron.

Her attorney, Michael Avenatti, made a similar claim on his Twitter, saying it “reeks of desperation.”

“This was a setup & politically motivated,” Avenatti tweeted. “It reeks of desperation. We will fight all bogus charges.”

He also questioned why law enforcement officers were using their resources for “sting operations” like this one.

Daniels was reportedly headlining a performance at the Sirens Gentlemen’s Club in Columbus, Ohio.

Franklin County Municipal Court records reportedly show that she was released Thursday morning after posting a $6,054 bail.

Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, claims to have had a sexual encounter with Trump in 2006, which Trump has denied.

Trump’s former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, arranged a nondisclosure agreement shortly before the 2016 presidential election and paid Daniels $130,000 to keep quiet about the alleged sexual encounter.

Trump admitted in May that he reimbursed Cohen for the hush money.

Daniels has filed lawsuits against both Cohen and Trump for defamation.
