About 250 passengers flying from New Jersey were reportedly stuck on an airplane for 16 hours after their flight made an emergency landing in Canada.

The United Airlines flight, which was headed to Hong Kong, was diverted to Labrador due to a medical emergency, according to CBC.

{mosads}But a mechanical issue prevented the plane from taking off again, the network added, leaving passengers on board for 16 hours.

Passengers weren’t able to leave the plane because customs officers aren’t available overnight.

The passengers were eventually transported to an alternate plane by bus.

According to CBC, passengers on the plane complained that temperatures dropped to uncomfortable levels.

The temperatures in Labrador were approximately -22 degrees Fahrenheit.
