Obama: Republican Party members believe 'white males are victims'
Minneapolis-area woman requests mourners 'do not vote for Trump' in obituary
A Minneapolis woman made her final wishes known in her obituary: Do not vote for President Trump.
Georgia May Adkins, who was a resident of Inver Grove Heights in Minnesota, died of a stroke at age 93 on Sept. 28 at United Hospital, and her last wishes were detailed in two obituaries published in The St. Paul Pioneer Press.
"In lieu of flowers, Georgia preferred that you do not vote for Trump," her Oct. 11 obituary read, according to the Pioneer Press.
The obituary also included that Adkins wanted to be cremated and honored at a church service following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for the coronavirus, the Pioneer Press reported.
Her request circulated on social media, soliciting responses both positive and negative, the paper reported.
Amber Westman, Adkins's grandchild, reportedly commented on a Facebook post, noting that her late grandmother was "fierce everyday and remains so through her legacy."
Adkins is survived by six children, three daughters, two stepdaughters and a son, the Pioneer Press reported.
The Trump campaign noted in September that it would make an effort to "go all in" in Minnesota in preparation for the upcoming election. A total of $14 million was reported to be reserved in airtime in Minnesota between Labor Day and Election Day.
