The accusations against the president have garnered renewed attention in recent weeks as women across the country have come forward to accuse powerful men in various industries of sexual misconduct.

Three of the women who have accused Trump of harassment urged Congress in a press conference on Monday to investigate their stories.

Trump has denied the accusations and the White House has maintained that their official position on the matter is that all of the president's accusers were lying.

The president commented on the issue on Tuesday, lashing out at Gillibrand after she called for his resignation. Trump's tweet prompted swift backlash.
