"I've got a book coming out January 2020!" Murphy tweeted.

"THE VIOLENCE INSIDE US is a deeply personal, ambitious exploration of American violence, and the biological and historical roots of why and how we hurt each other," he added. "Pre-order it here and lots of other places."

According to Penguin Random House, the book begins with the 2012 shootings in Newtown, Conn., where a gunman killed 20 first graders and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

It then traces Murphy's "profound personal transformation" and tackles the discussion around gun violence.
