Sandy Hook Elementary evacuated after unspecified threat on shooting anniversary

Sandy Hook Elementary was evacuated Friday, the anniversary of 2012 mass shooting, following an unspecified threat.

The Newtown Police Department said the threat was not credible but decided to dismiss the school just to be safe, according to local TV news station WFSB. Police reportedly said the incident was not connected to Thursday's bomb threats nationwide.

The Newtown Action Alliance asked followers to "stand with our community as we attempt to survive another tragic anniversary."
