Police investigating report Ohio middle schoolers bullied biracial student with 'MAGA country' taunts

Police in Ohio are reportedly investigating a bullying incident at a middle school where a group of boys allegedly told a biracial, female student that "this is MAGA country" and "all black people should die."

The Canton Repository reports that school officials from Jackson Memorial Middle School and the Jackson Township police are investigating the incident after the student’s mother filed a report.

According to a police report reviewed by the local news outlet, the student and a friend were surrounded by 10 boys in the school cafeteria Tuesday after lunch.

The boys said they were "the wall" and that "this is MAGA country" and "all black people should die."

The mother said the incident scared her child. Police are investigating the incident.

Mark Brink, the Jackson Township police chief, told the local news outlet that the department is working with school officials, adding that police are reviewing video recordings from the school cafeteria.

The boys involved are in sixth grade, according to a statement from the school district.

"School safety continues to be a priority at Jackson Schools," Superintendent Chris DiLoreto said in a statement, adding that school officials are interviewing students in an effort to learn more.

In a Facebook post Tuesday night following the incident, the student’s mother said the girl had been bullied before but never to this extent, according to the local newspaper.

The mother told the local news outlet that she met with school officials Wednesday morning and was able to view the surveillance video.

She said the video shows her child is being truthful. She added that the boys used the terms "Trump country" and "MAGA" multiple times while bullying her daughter.
