Multiple people injured in shooting outside Pennsylvania nightclub: authorities
At least 10 people are injured after a shooting at an Allentown, Pa., nightclub early Thursday morning, The Associated Press reported.
Authorities said most of the victims had just left or were standing outside of the Deja Vu nightclub when shots were fired around 2 a.m.
All the wounded are being treated at the hospital and expected to recover, according to AP.
No arrests were immediately made and the motive for the shooting was unclear.
Authorities believe there were three shooters, according to AP.
"It appears that at least one individual was a target," Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin and Allentown Police Chief Tony Alsleben added in a statement. "Although not confirmed, in our opinion based upon investigative information... it is more likely than not that the outcome of the investigation will reveal a connection to gang violence."
Rep. Susan Wild (D-Pa.), whose district the shooting occurred in, tweeted that she was "horrified."
"Horrified at the news of a shooting in Allentown overnight. Thankfully, there have been no fatalities. I'm keeping a close eye on the situation and praying for the victims in the hospital," Wild said.
