College student in Texas quarantined with suspected coronavirus
A Texas A&M college student, who recently traveled to the Chinese city of Wuhan, is being closely monitored for the deadly coronavirus.
The student went to an emergency room Thursday with a cough and congestion, ABC News reports.
"The patient we're tracking had very mild symptoms," Dr. Eric Wilke, of the Brazos County Health Department, said at a press conference Thursday.
The patient is quarantined at home, and health care workers are performing tests to see if the student contracted the virus. Wilke expects to have the results back from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention no later than Monday, the network reports.
The doctor didn't confirm whether or not the student lived on Texas A&M's campus.
