Florida Boy Scouts uncover human remains while working on Eagle Scout project

Local Boy Scouts in Pensacola, Fla., discovered human remains Saturday while they cleaned in and around a building as part of an Eagle Scout project, ABC News affiliate WEAR reported.

Pensacola Police said in a statement that it was investigating the incident. The Medical Examiner’s officer determined the bones found were human, police said.

Police told the ABC News affiliate that the historically-designated building where the remains were found is owned by the city and has been used over the years by civic groups including the Boy Scouts.

The Hill has reached out to Pensacola police for more information.
