House GOP releases 293-page compromise immigration bill

House GOP leaders have sent to their members a 293-page immigration bill meant to serve as a compromise between conservatives and centrists.

The bill includes language that would allow immigrants covered by the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program to remain in the country, while advancing President TrumpDonald TrumpRobert Gates says 'extreme polarization' is the greatest threat to US democracy Cassidy says he won't vote for Trump if he runs in 2024 Schiff says holding Bannon in criminal contempt 'a way of getting people's attention' MORE's initiatives, including a wall on the Mexican border.
