CNN’s Camerota to publish ‘wickedly funny’ novel about cable news

CNN morning anchor Alisyn Camerota will be publishing a novel that focuses on the “challenges and behind-the-scenes fun” of cable news, according to her publisher.
Camerota, the current co-anchor of CNN’s “New Day” and a former “Fox & Friends Weekend” co-host on Fox News, has teamed with Viking Publishing to publish “Amanda Wakes Up” in July.
“If there’s one subject I know through and through, it’s the challenges and behind-the-scenes fun of cable news,” explains Camerota, 50. “Being able to assign real-life dilemmas to a fictional character was strangely comforting and instructive.”
{mosads}”I started this book years ago and am grateful that Viking has been on board the whole way for this crazy ride.”
Viking describes the book as a “wickedly funny debut about a bootstrapping young reporter who lands a plum job at a big-time cable news station and finds her ambitions and her love life turned upside down.”
Camerota was with Fox News for 16 years, from 1998-2014, before going to CNN to replace Kate Bolduan as Chris Cuomo’s co-anchor on “New Day.
