After defeating incumbent Rep. Kerry Bentivolio (R) in the primary election, Dave Trott secured his seat for Michigan’s 11th Congressional District and will serve in public office for the first time. Trott has worked as a lawyer at his family’s law firm since 1985. In high school and college, he volunteered for the Oakland County Republican Chairman in Michigan and a state senator. After graduating from the University of Michigan, he worked for Rep. Bill Broomfield (R) in Washington. Trott has served on various boards, including the University of Michigan Advisory Board and the Karmanos Cancer Center board of directors.

Trott lives in his hometown of Birmingham with his wife of 25 years, Kappy, and their three children.
