Democrats are committed to fighting For the people to restore dignity to our democracy and give power back to the people.”

That is rich. Since when have Democrats shown a desire to drain the swamp? It certainly was not on display when the ongoing Internal Revenue Service targeting scandal came to light. Democrats, both in the executive branch and in the Congress, worked instead to hamper the investigation and protect those who had engaged in serial wrongdoing. Lois Lerner was allowed to retire with her benefits intact.

Or where was the desire by Democrats to combat corruption when we found out Hillary ClintonHillary Diane Rodham ClintonHillary Clinton slams Trump rally: 'The time has come again' to fight for democracy Trump blasts minority Democrats, rally crowd chants 'send her back' The Memo: Democrats debate Trump response – 'Being righteous and losing sucks' MORE improperly used a private email server? We learned that there was an “anomaly” on her server discovered by the intelligence community inspector general that led him to believe that virtually every single one of the emails that went through that server was sent surreptitiously to a foreign entity unrelated to Russia. There was corruption in her decision to set up the unsecured email server in her basement in violation of longstanding security protocols. There was corruption in the ramshackle FBI  “investigation” into it. Democrats continue to deny that she put national security at risk.

The Democrats were equally silent about Holder when the House held him in contempt of Congress attorney general for obstructing an oversight investigation into the “Fast and Furious” operation in 2012. Rather than take a stand, more than 100 Democrats simply left the chamber and refused to vote. Where was Pelosi trying to root out corruption then?

Similarly, the Democrats have remained silent about the manner in which the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant to surveil Carter Page, a private American citizen, was secured. Release of the redacted documents revealed that the FBI agents who prepared the applications did not make clear to the court that much of the information regarding Page had come straight from an opposition research document funded by the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, information former FBI Director James ComeyJames Brien ComeyFBI's spreadsheet puts a stake through the heart of Steele's dossier Hannity invites Ocasio-Cortez to join prime-time show for full hour The Hill's 12:30 Report: Acosta under fire over Epstein plea deal MORE himself referred to as “salacious” and “unverified.” Democrats did not wail with outrage when this corruption of the FISA process was revealed. Instead, they doubled down and defended the application.

Speaking of Comey, why have Democrats not called for an investigation into his now publicly acknowledged leaks of classified information, which he engaged in for the purpose of having his memos published in the media? Crickets. I hear nothing but crickets. Perhaps most importantly, Democrats remain shockingly silent about the disregard of President Obama showed for national security when he put classified intelligence at risk by communicating with Clinton on email through her unsecured private server while she was head of the State Department.

The Democrats, for years, have turned a blind eye to the lawbreaking and systemic corruption that stems from the wholesale disregard of our immigration laws. Basically every single Democrat in the House and Senate today benefits from an illegal exemption from ObamaCare, which is a case of institutional corruption so pervasive that members of Congress and their staffs regularly lie to their constituents who ask about it. I know because I have been tracking their responses for years.

It is obvious that Democrats believe there is one set of rules for themselves and another set of rules for everyone else. Americans see through their hypocrisy. The Democrats have “resisted” Donald TrumpDonald John TrumpAmash responds to 'Send her back' chants at Trump rally: 'This is how history's worst episodes begin' McConnell: Trump 'on to something' with attacks on Dem congresswomen Trump blasts 'corrupt' Puerto Rico's leaders amid political crisis MORE from the moment he won the election. In fact, it seems they began resisting him with their “insurance policy” even before he was elected. They simply do not want him to be president, and that is their right. If they want to wage the battle of the 2018 midterms on that front, then that is their choice. But let us get over this silly idea that returning Pelosi as Speaker would suddenly usher in an era of cleanliness and godliness in the swamp. History shows otherwise.
