Some politicians affect a certain style to distract voters from their lack of substance. Conversely, President TrumpDonald TrumpEx-DOJ official Rosenstein says he was not aware of subpoena targeting Democrats: report Ex-Biden adviser says Birx told him she hoped election turned out 'a certain way' Cheney rips Arizona election audit: 'It is an effort to subvert democracy' MORE relies on substance to remind the American people what matters most of all, which is results. In a Gallup poll two years ago, only about a third of the country felt Trump had the personality and leadership qualities that a president should have.

According to a recent Gallup poll, that view is now held by 40 percent of Americans. with Republicans, Democrats, and independents all reporting a higher assessment of his leadership qualities. Incredibly, the percentage of Democrats who say Trump meets their presidential expectations has more than doubled since 2017, increasing from 6 percent to 13 percent. Even among Republicans, who have always had a high opinion of Trump ever since he entered office, his ratings are up by seven points.

The findings also shed light on the reason that Americans are so much more likely to view Trump as presidential today than they were two years ago, which is that he is winning people over with his successful policy agenda. According to the same Gallup poll, 47 percent of Americans now say they agree with Trump on the issues that matter most to them, a significant increase from the 39 percent who said the same thing two years. In contrast, only 45 percent of respondents agreed with President Obama on the important issues at the same point in his first term.

Ideology is certainly not driving all those numbers, as 38 percent of respondents rated the political views of Trump as about right, which is similar to what people said about Barack ObamaBarack Hussein ObamaArizona election audit draws Republican tourists Biden tries to erase Trump's 'America First' on world stage Queen Elizabeth will need to call upon her charm for Biden's visit MORE and George Bush after two years into their respective presidencies. Instead, the growing support for the policies of Trump appears to reflect voter satisfaction with the results that those policies have produced. While the brilliant scribes in the mainstream media will inevitably discount these findings, the meaning is clear. Once a businessman offering appealing promises to the nation with the panache of a world class salesman, Trump is now an accomplished commander in chief with results rivaling some of the best presidents in history, both economically and on the world stage.

Two years ago, voters has no idea whether Trump would be able to deliver on his campaign promises once he took office. It was difficult to predict how the establishment would react to his bold and unique proposals, especially given the fact that so many Democrats were determined to obstruct his policy agenda at all costs. Despite those obstacles, Trump has managed to fulfill dozens of promises that he made on the trail.

The booming economy stands as the crowning achievement of Trump. The combination of middle class tax cuts, the elimination of wasteful and unnecessary regulations, and trade policies that favor workers have finally produced the long awaited economic recovery that was forestalled by the policies of Obama. Of course, Trump has scored victories in other policy areas, such as achieving the bipartisan prison reforms that had eluded establishment politicians from both parties for decades. He managed to secure funding for border security, despite the determined efforts of Democrats to completely derail his entire immigration agenda.

His effective leadership extends far beyond our borders. Trump has demonstrated his diplomatic acumen repeatedly, even persuading the reclusive dictator of North Korea to come to the negotiating table to discuss denuclearization. At the same time, he has revolutionized trade policy, using strategic tariffs to secure better trade deals from our allies and stand up to the aggressive economic behavior from China.

His record is all the more impressive considering that Trump has been able to accomplish these things despite unrelenting harassment from Democrats, who have falsely accused him of colluding with Russians and obstructing justice because they have no good rebuttal to his effective policy agenda. Democrats in Congress are still exploring impeachment without providing a specific rationale for such a drastic recourse. Their obstructionist strategy is all style and no substance, which is exactly the opposite of the approach that has worked such wonders for Trump.
