Chelsea Clinton unveils next 'She Persisted' book
Chelsea Clinton is giving her book-writing experience a workout, penning a new children's book about female athletes.
The 39-year-old daughter of former President Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will release "She Persisted in Sports" later this year, the book's publisher announced Tuesday.
The third in Clinton's "She Persisted" series, the book aims to target 4 to 8 year olds and illustrated by Alexandra Boiger, will focus on the sports world's female athletes who have "faced their own unique set of challenges."
" 'She Persisted in Sports' is a book for everyone who has ever aimed for a goal and been told it wasn't theirs to hit, for everyone who has ever raced for a finish line that seemed all too far away, and for everyone who has ever felt small or unimportant while out on the field," a news release from publisher Philomel Books said.
Chelsea Clinton said in a Tuesday tweet to her 2.6 million followers that she was thrilled to announce the kids' book, which is poised to be released on May 19.
Clinton, a mom of three and New York Times bestselling writer, co-authored another project with her mother, "The Book of Gutsy Women," last year.
