"I've switched teams.Vote Trump 2016.Hi pol," John Podesta's account tweeted Wednesday.

“Hi pol” appeared to be a reference to the internet prankster forum 4Chan.

"We can confirm that John's Twitter account was hacked, which would explain that message. And we are working on fixing it,” Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill told CNN.

By Thursday morning, the tweet had been taken down.

The incident comes after Podesta's hacked emails were released in a series of batches by WikiLeaks in recent days.
