WikiLeaks also repeated a threat in a tweet at Kaine and NBC's "Meet the Press," saying, "@MeetThePress @timkaine We have a surprise for @TimKaine #TKSurprise."

On "Meet the Press," Kaine addressed an email purportedly from the John Podesta breach that said Kaine was notified of his vice presidential nomination in 2015.

“The one that referred to me is flat-out incorrect," said Kaine.

WikiLeaks is still reeling from a week of bad news. Last week, the Ecuadorian Embassy in London shut off founder Julian Assange's internet access.

On Saturday WikiLeaks "mentor" Gavin MacFadyen died of lung cancer.

"Gavin Macfadyen was mentor to Assange (and his closest friend in London), to WikiLeaks' Sarah Harrison, Joseph Farrell and many others," mourned the WikiLeaks Twitter account.
