The 30-second spot, shared in advance of its release with The Washington Post, shows Rice speaking directly into the camera, saying, "Our nation and the world face serious threats to our security. And who we send to Washington really matters.”

She vows Sullivan’s “extensive national security experience will make our country better."

Rice provides a brief biography of Sullivan, a Marine veteran who served under her during the Bush administration, over a montage of photos showing the challenger traveling with her and in his military uniform.

“These are challenging times. America needs Dan Sullivan,” Rice concludes.

A pair of polls last week showed Sullivan leading incumbent Sen. Mark Begich (D-Alaska), as Democrats in key Senate battleground states continue to fall behind Republicans.

The new commercial is not the first time Rice has waded into the high-profile Senate race. Last spring, she endorsed Sullivan during the hard-fought GOP primary, defending her former employee's record in a spot for American Crossroads.
