House to vote on Defense appropriations next week

The Defense appropriations bill that passed the committee was $3 billion higher than the president’s budget request, which led to a veto threat from the White House.

The committee passed a measure to strip the military’s funding for sports sponsorships like NASCAR, which is expected to get a vote on the floor.

Cantor said the House would vote on the appropriations bill while also announcing a vote on legislation to extend the Bush-era tax rates, which you can read about on The Hill’s Floor Action blog.
