Pelosi: Passable climate bill would be priority for Dems

House Minority Leader Nancy PelosiNancy PelosiDole in final column: 'Too many of us have sacrificed too much' Dole to lie in state in Capitol Rotunda House to vote on Uyghur bill amid diplomatic boycott of Beijing Olympics MORE (D-Calif.) says a passable climate change bill would be  a "top priority" if Democrats gain control of the House.

In an interview with Bloomberg Government, Pelosi said the bill would be one "that could pass," and that it may not be centered around a cap-and-trade system for polluters.

"People have different ideas whether it is cap and trade, some other form of putting a price on carbon," Pelosi told "That’s a top priority. That was my flagship issue when I went in.”

Pelosi admitted that Democrats probably should have "gone in a more forward direction" on a bill addressing the impacts of climate change than they initially did when in charge of the House.

She predicted Democrats could takeover the House in 2016.
