San Francisco has worst air quality in the world due to smoke from wildfires

Wildfires in Northern California are giving San Francisco the worst air quality in the world.

The figures come from AirVisual, which found that the Air Quality Index (AQI) in San Francisco was 357 as of Friday afternoon. The city with the second worst AQI is Dhaka, Bangladesh, at 284.

{mosads}AQI is measured based on five different air pollutants and is calculated by the Environmental Protection Agency.

The Bay Area’s has hovered in the low 200s for most of the week as the region has battled deadly wildfires that have killed 63 people in California. More than 600 people are missing as a result of the Camp fire in Northern California.

President Trump is set to visit California on Saturday to “meet with individuals impacted by the wildfires,” the White House said.
