“We are fools,” he told host Stephen K. Bannon on Sirius XM’s “Breitbart News Daily.”

“All he wants to talk about is climate change,” Trump said of Obama. "We’re like the dummies that everyone laughs at."

“[Obama] thinks that climate change is a far bigger problem than Russia loaded up with nukes, China doing what they’re doing in the [South China Sea] where they’re literally building up islands, building up fortresses,” he continued. "They have no respect for us.

“We have a form of global warming that’s very serious, and it’s called ‘nuclear global warming.' If we don’t get our act together and corral some of these countries that want to get some power, we’re going to be in big trouble.”

Trump said Obama’s push for international climate change cooperation has earned mockery abroad, and that other nations have no intention of following his lead.

“China is not a believer,” he said. "The Chinese are laughing at us while going along with what [Obama] says.

“They want to be leader with their mouth. They want to stand there and say, ‘We agree, Mr. President.' "

“I speak to the Chinese at the highest levels, and they think we’re dumb as hell,” Trump added. "And they’re right.”

Trump added that part of the problem is Obama’s insistence that climate change presents an active threat against humanity.

“We do have weather that changes — storms, tornados, hurricanes,” he said. "We’ve had them always.

“It goes in waves — it goes a little up, it goes a little down, it’s been happening for years,” Trump continued.

“We have a president over there worried about climate change instead of nuclear weapons coming into our cities.

“We’re run by stupid people. I used to say incompetent, but stupid, really, is the next stage.”

Obama is leaving Paris Tuesday after international talks over a pact to fight climate change.

He has argued that the U.S. will cut its greenhouse gas emissions between 26 and 28 percent by 2025 and has also pledged $3 billion to the Green Climate Fund, which helps impoverished nations reduce emissions and adapt for climate change.

Republicans have largely opposed Obama’s climate change agenda at home, arguing it will hurt the economy for little gain.

Obama and other Democrats have countered that man-made climate change presents a dire threat for future generations if predictions about it are accurate.
