Senate appropriators move military construction bill

The House is moving along with a plan to pass all 12 appropriations bills by the end of September and has already cleared Homeland Security and Agriculture bills with deep cuts controversial with Democrats. The deepest cuts will come in Labor, Health and Human Services; Transportation; and State department bills that the House does not plan to act on until September.

Sources said it appears unlikely that Senate Appropriators will flesh out a Democratic versions of these harder bills until after debt ceiling talks led by President Obama resolve the overall spending levels.
