Senators concerned VA will be short of resources for veterans’ healthcare

“If the estimated savings for fiscal years 2012 and 2013 do not materialize and VA receives appropriations in the amount requested by the president, VA may have to make difficult trade-offs to manage within the resources provided,” the senators wrote.

The senators are asking for a detailed plan to increase MCCF collections, so that collections goals in fiscal 2012 are met after they came up short through the first three quarters of the fiscal year, leaving the agency potentially short of the necessary funds, according to the senators.
“Such difficult trade-offs are evident throughout the VA healthcare system,” they wrote.
