The Dow Jones Industrial Average hit a record high of 27,492.63 on Tuesday, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq composite climbing to a record 8,434.68 the same day. The S&P 500 index reached a record 3,078 on Monday.

Trump has lauded the financial and economic gains during his presidency, including how the unemployment rate was at 3.6 percent last month, slightly up from the 50-year low in September.

The economy’s success has been a focal point of his reelection campaign, with Trump arguing in August that the economy would “go down the tubes” if he lost the 2020 presidential race.

Still, economists have raised concerns about a possible economic downturn next year, particularly because of Trump's year-plus trade war with China.
