{mosads}The device tax will take effect in 2013 and is meant to raise $20 billion over 10 years to help fund healthcare reform. It has been a sticking point for Republicans, who argue, with industry, that it will hamper job creation. 

In its email, the NRCC cited an industry-sponsored report that found the tax will cut 43,000 U.S. jobs — more than 10 percent of American medical device manufacturing workers.

The Obama administration says medical device makers will benefit from the healthcare law as more people become insured and receive more care.
