Obama renominates Tavenner to lead Medicare, Medicaid agency

Tavenner has been acting CMS administrator since her previous nomination.

She succeeded Don Berwick, who was a widely respected academic before his nomination, where he became entangled in a political controversy over comments that Republicans saw as an endorsement of healthcare rationing.
