Report: Minn. ObamaCare employee accidentally leaked sensitive data

{mosads}The mistake, which appeared tied to human error, highlights worries from ObamaCare’s critics that the law’s new exchanges will not sufficiently protect enrollees’ private data.

Rep. Pat Meehan (R-Pa.), who leads the House Homeland Security’s subcommittee on Cybersecurity, called Friday for a delay of ObamaCare’s data hub, a mechanism that would allow coverage applicants to receive a real-time eligibility determination.

“ObamaCare’s data hub hasn’t even gone live yet, and already there are massive data breaches,” Meehan said in a statement. “What more has to happen to convince this administration that the data hub is not ready for prime time?”

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on Wednesday defended the hub’s security, stating that it will not store personally identifiable information and is being constructed with strong security protections.
