Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said Wednesday that the outcome of the American presidential election does not make a difference to Iranians.

“We don’t mourn or celebrate because [the results] make no difference to us,” Khamenei said during a speech in Isfahan, according to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

{mosads}Throughout his campaign, President-elect Donald Trump took a hardline stance against the nuclear deal the U.S. negotiated with Iran and international powers aimed at curbing Iran’s nuclear program.

Trump vowed to either renegotiate the deal or get rid of the agreement altogether.

Khamenei’s comments come one day after the House voted to extend defense, energy and banking sanctions on Iran for an additional decade.

He maintained that the Iranian government is “not concerned” with America’s president.

“We are not concerned and with the grace of God, we’re ready to face any possible [eventuality],” Khamenei said Wednesday.

Khamenei has previously criticized American politics, saying last month it “is a typical result of lack of spirituality & faith among those in power.”
