Panel votes to cut funding to Organization of American States

The bill would require the secretary of State to submit to Congress a strategy to reform the OAS while limiting any member state's assessed annual fees to no more than 50 percent of the total. A Senate version of the bill does not include the funding restrictions.

The panel also voted to give South Korea two more years to negotiate a new deal with the United States on its civil nuclear program as well as two export promotion acts aimed at strengthening government efforts to promote U.S. exports.
