Kushner makes trip to Iraq

Jared Kushner — a senior adviser to President Trump who is also his son-in-law — is traveling in Iraq with Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Joseph Dunford, according to multiple reports.

Dunford invited Kushner on the trip, according to The New York Times. Other details were not immediately released.

Kushner is expected to be back in the U.S. early this week, CNN reported, citing a senior administration official.

Last week, the White House announced the creation of the Office of American Innovation. It will be led by Kushner and will focus on some of the goals Trump pledged to accomplish during his campaign, such as working to improve veteran care and fight opioid addiction.

The new office was described by The Washington Post report as a “SWAT team” to fix the federal bureaucracy.
