North Korea blows up US Capitol in propaganda video

North Korea has put out a new propaganda film that shows its forces targeting the U.S. Capitol and an aircraft carrier with missiles before portraying them exploding.

The short video presents a montage of Pyongyang's military parades and missile tests along with the targeting of U.S. forces.

The video, which includes a target over the White House, concludes by simulating an explosion of both the U.S. Capitol and an aircraft carrier.

According to New York magazine, one of the captions in the video states, "We will show you what a strong country that leads the world in nuclear and missile technology is capable of."

The video also reportedly ends with the words: "The final collapse will begin."

The new propaganda video comes amid rising tensions in the Korean Peninsula, with U.S. officials attempting to pressure Pyongyang to permanently suspend its nuclear weapons program.
