President Trump has the highest unfavorable rating of any foreign leader in a new poll of French voters.

A Suffolk University poll released Thursday found 82 percent of French voters view Trump unfavorably.

By contrast, Russian President Vladimir Putin has a 70.9 percent unfavorable rating.


Trump has expressed support for French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen of the far right National Front, calling her the "strongest" candidate on borders and "what’s been going on in France" ahead of the first round of voting last month.

The Suffolk poll found French voters like Obama, who has a 90 percent favorable rating.

The Suffolk poll surveyed 1,094 French voters from April 28 to May 2, excluding May 1, and its results have a 3 percentage point margin of error.
