Macron calls Australian prime minister's wife 'delicious'

French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday reportedly referred to the wife of Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull as “delicious."

“I want to thank you for your welcome, thank you and your delicious wife for your warm welcome,” Macron said, according to The Associated Press.

The AP cited several potential reasons for Macron’s word choice. The French word “delicieux” can mean “delightful.” But the news outlet said Turnbull had just been talking about French cooking before Macron made the remark.
