Earthquake hits Iran near nuclear plant

A 4.7 magnitude earthquake shook two towns in southern Iran that are near the country's Bushehr nuclear power plant on Tuesday.

According to Bloomberg, Iran's state-run Islamic Republic News Agency reported that there were no casualties and that rescue teams were on-site.

Built by Russia, Bushehr was constructed to withstand an earthquake with a magnitude of up to 9 on the Richter scale, Bloomberg reports.
