Don Lemon: Trump family are 'grifters' who are 'stomping all over' norms

CNN host Don Lemon tore into President Trump and his family on Thursday night, saying that the Trumps are "grifters" using the White House for their own purposes.

Lemon blasted Trump's demand for an investigation into whether the FBI improperly spied on his 2016 presidential campaign.

Trump is "stomping all over the norms that have kept the government running for centuries," Lemon said.

"Just objectively if you look at the family and you look at the president, it seems to be a family of grifters who have gotten a hold of the executive office and who are using it for their own purposes."

Lemon attacked Trump hours after a group of lawmakers met with top Justice Department officials to discuss the FBI's use of a informant. Trump has repeatedly called him a "spy."

Democrats who attended the meeting said there was no evidence that the FBI paced a spy in the campaign. They also blasted the Trump administration after Emmet Flood, the White House lawyer handling the Russia probe, attended the beginning stage of the meeting.

Trump claimed Friday morning that the informant was used before the FBI launched its investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential race.

Lemon has been vocally critical of Trump this week. On Wednesday, he said Trump is making false claims about an FBI informant  to "save his presidency."

"The president of the United States is lying to us over and over and over and over again," Lemon said.  "We've all seen it with our very own eyes and we've heard it with our own ears."
