LightSquared has retained some of the biggest names on K Street, totaling at 15 firms as of Friday’s newest registration. Of those, 11 were hired during 2011. Other well-known firms currently working for the telecom group include Gephardt Group Government Affairs, K&L Gates and Podesta Group.

LightSquared needs the Federal Communications Commission’s permission prior to proceeding with their proposal. The commission has told the company it cannot move forward until it proves that the GPS issues have been fixed.

In addition, test results published Wednesday assert that LightSquared’s proposal for a wireless network would interfere with most general-purpose GPS receivers, including a flight safety system.

Rep. Michael Turner (R-Ohio) submitted language Wednesday to the Defense Authorization Act that would stop the FCC from approving the company’s proposal without first receiving the approval of the Defense Department.

Allard’s Hill experience spans from 1984 to 1987; he served as late Sen. Daniel Moynihan (D-N.Y.)’s chief of staff and as Senate Judiciary Committee minority staff counsel.

Louer left the Hill in 200, where his last position was policy director to Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.).

Lobbying registrations do not require disclosure of lobbying fees.
