Twitter makes first D.C. hire

Twitter has made its first hire in Washington, D.C. Adam Sharp, the executive producer of digital services at C-SPAN, will join the company Nov. 29.

Sharp previously served as deputy chief of staff for Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.). 

Sharp, whose Twitter handle is @sharpdc, appropriately announced the news on Twitter:

Will be @’s 1st DC staff, but join 300+ strong team committed to improving govt, political debate. Start 11/29.

Privacy will be a major policy issue for Twitter. Lawmakers of both parties have said they will address the issue in the next session of Congress.
