Obama adds tech leaders to jobs council

President Obama's new Council on Jobs and Competitiveness will include representatives from Intel, Facebook and Comcast.

The White House unveiled the council's membership on Wednesday as part of its recent focus on encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship. The council is tasked with coming up with policies that will boost domestic employment.

General Electric Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt will serve as chairman.

Other members include Revolution Chairman and AOL co-founder Steve Case, Intel CEO Paul Otellini, Comcast President and CEO Brian Roberts, Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg and venture capitalist John Doerr, who hosted a dinner for Obama at his home in Silicon Valley last week.

More members of the council are expected to be announced at a later date.
