News bites: Facebook, tech giants like AT&T merger

Facebook, Yahoo, Oracle, Research in Motion and other tech giants have thrown their weight behind the AT&T merger with T-Mobile. Microsoft, who had previously said it supported the deal, led a letter of eight tech companies and 10 venture capital firms saying the merger should be approved, in part to address near-term capacity needs. The venture capital firms include Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Sequoia Partners. More in The New York Times
