Ryan to unveil budget reforms
House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said Monday he plans to unveil reforms this fall on a new budgeting process for Congress.
At an online event sponsored by Facebook featuring Ryan, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) Ryan said he plans to unveil reforms that would streamline the budgeting process in Congress.
“If we don’t’ tackle a new fiscal process in this country, [it] will tackle us,” Ryan said.
{mosads}Ryan’s announcement falls in line with his decision to not join the supercommittee. He told the Republican leadership that he did not want a spot on the deficit cutting panel so he could tackle larger aspects of the federal budget and the budget process.
Ryan did not say what the specific reforms would be.
